The history of Omega 3 goes back to 1700’s, where in Manchester, England; hospitals gave cod liver oil to patients for arthritis pain. More recent history shows studies of Omega 3 started with Dr.’s Burr and Burr in the 1930’s, when their studies of peoples in the Arctic demonstrated little or no health problems within their population. Today these changes in the diet in the north are showing many unwanted health problems, but not only in the north but throughout the world.
The studies of the Omega 3 contribution to human health are ongoing still today, and breakthroughs lead back to traditional diets of peoples around the world. With some diets changing only in the since 1985 (Greenland), scientific studies have found many health problems associated with our modern diets. Although doctors studying Omega 3 benefits recognize that not all people are going to adapt to new diets which include fish & sea mammals, they do recommend using supplementary health products as a good start to improving lifestyle & health.
